We call this Ruin 16. One of the earliest dwellings discovered by Gustav Nordenskiold in the late 1800's. It is a back country ruin on the Weatherill Mesa. I was invited to tag along with an archeological mapping crew while they mapped this unexcavated dwelling. It has remained virtually untouched by man since its Anasazi residents left sometime during the eleventh century. We do not know why they went away as they left no records. Only the canyon remembers.
